| Crofting in Skye, 1939
Prize-winning film at the sixth Scottish Amateur Film Festival, 1939.
This is a bit of a "drama-documentary" and works really well with Ian's
music. We see how crofters eek out a living from the land and the sea from
their small holdings. There's salmon netting and the long walk into town to
sell the fish. There's the life of a shepherd rescuing sheep from rocky
crags. And then there's harvest time when good weather is crucial. There's
even a moment when a crofter moves faster than any crofter has ever moved
before... |
