HOLIDAYING IN HARRIS

The directors Nat and Nettie McGavin were founder members of the Scottish
Association of Amateur Cinematographers and won prizes at several Scottish
Amateur Film Festivals. This film is led by wonderful gaelic singing from
Alyth. Despite being a Lewis girl she has generously compromised and buried
old island rivalries to sing about the delights of Harris. We visit Tarbert
seeing some of the old houses. Cows are milked, lambs are fed, and clothes
are washed in a burn. There's peat gathering and tweed making as the mood
in the music changes...
